Razorfest 2008!

This Saturday was Razorfest in Fayetteville and so we went out to watch the red white game and take in all the festivities. Payton was such a trooper. She loved listening to the band and she danced right along! It was so cute! There were almost 40,000 people there- and it was such a beautiful day to be outside. We saw lots of friends there and had so much fun!

Woo Pig! She is getting those arms ready in Hog calling form!
Put me in Coach Petrino! I am ready to play!.....well maybe just be a cheerleader!
Calling the Hogs with Dad...WOoo Pig Sooie!! Razorbacks!!

Summer here we come!

Payton and Daddy with her 1st steps into the pool!

Well it started out as a lovely Friday- the weather was warm and sunny so we decided to take Payton swimming for the 1st time! I would have loved to get her in the water earlier, but having a baby in August isn't very conducive to that.....then it rained and rained and it was cold, but we decided to go anyway! The Jones center is indoors and has a heated pool....(not that heated it was pretty chilly)...but we had a blast! Payton loved the water..I knew she would...and she had so much fun swimming with her daddy. He goes there at least three times a week to swim.
She started out in the baby pool, which has a graduated entrance, which is so nice, then since it was a little cold we moved over to the main section where we could dunk her under water and motor boat her around. We can't wait for lots of other swimming opportunities this summer ! She is going to be a little fish, I can tell already!

The video is short I know, but I had to have at least a couple of seconds of video from her 1st time in the pool! Next time we will get a longer one.

Go Hogs!

Today we took Payton to her 1st Razorback baseball game! She rode in her hog stroller and loved it! We brought a mat for her to play on she had the best time just being outside....our friends the Stam's went with us and we reminisced on the last time we were all at a baseball game....we were pregnant with the girls! How times have changed. The hogs even pulled the game out in the 10th inning for us...WOOO PIG!

We are racing for a cure!

Here we are! We walked the Race for the Cure 5k this morning! It started out a little chilly, but the sun warmed things up pretty fast. You couldn't help but get excited as you watched all the people in pink with such great spirits! It doesn't matter that we all had to walk an extra mile to the start and back, because we were all there for a great cause, and that is all that mattered.

Here we are with Alesha and Presley Kate getting ready to hit the start!
We also ran...I mean walked with my friend Pearce and her kids Elijah and Ruth ( who is 4 days younger than Payton). Her kids looked so cute all bundled up in their double jogger!

So cute! She was ready for a good ride...she even slept for a minute or two I think!
Here is my handsome husband in the blue....go Brian! ....just kidding! There were over 19,000 people who turned out to race. It was so overwhelming to look and see a sea of people in front of you and then you turn around and there were just as many behind you. There were also 605 elite runners, which means that you have to run the race in 14-15 minutes...a 4 or 5 minute mile....maybe next year! Considering that we made in in 10 seconds short of an hour! But with 3 strollers, it was hard to keep a steady pace....we would have taken out some ankles if we had really tried to get a good time!

Watch out here I come!

OK- I had to put this precious pic on the blog.....she isn't taking off yet- just a step or two then she plops down on the floor and crawls, but soon, you better watch out! And note...I put it together all by myself, even had to screw in a few screws!

Girlls Getaway cont...

Well....for those of you who know me well- know that I love bags....so I am trying to teach Payton early how to shop in the right places! Sam Moon was one of the first places that we stopped when we drove into Dallas - we hit it at just the right time and it wasn't too crowded. Payton was very stimulated by all the colors and she picked out this pink one! I bought the brown one, my mom bought the green one....we could have shopped all day- but we had dinner plans.....we will have to go back soon! On Wednesday we beat the rain and headed to Lakeside park where they have these bears that are the cutest things! The paws, noses, and eyes are made of granite and Payton loved touching them. It started to sprinkle right as we got in the car so it was perfect timimg for this great photo op!

Payton with me, her Granjann, and Grand Aunt Jenny.

Shopping in North Park was quick, but we made time to stop by the fountain and see the turtles and the ducks that were there.

We also got to visit my friend Erica- that was a big bonus on this short trip to Dallas- Payton loved smiling at her! We miss you Penick! Happy Birthday tomorrow!!

Visit from Great Grandpa

We got the privilege of having Brian's grandpa come and stay with us Friday night. He lives in LR and we were so glad he could come visit! Payton loved getting to play with him and really liked his shoes! We couldn't keep her away from the laces. She pulled up on his pant leg and would just smile all the time. So coy. We went to the Catfish Hole for dinner...yum...and then came home to play the card game Blitz. We can't wait to see him again soon!!

Girls Getaway!

You would think we were staying for a week...not 48 hours! Packing is a lot different with a baby! Payton was a champ as always and snoozed in the car on the way there! We stopped in McAlister which was the halfway point- and she ate some lunch- and then we were back on the road!
My mom and Aunt Jenny eating at LaDuni- YUM! Payton ate her carrots and peas while we were there- and about her weight in Cheerios!
My Uncle John at his frame shop in Dallas- note the frames beside him...."Hum...I think I like that beard!"
Eating at Mermaids in Neiman's...Payton once again a trooper and she tried blueberries while we were there! She loved them!

Well on a spur of the moment whim we decided to go to Dallas with my mom to visit her sister and brother....Payton's Great Aunt and Uncle! Although we like to call them grand, not great. They are so great however! My mom left LR Monday night and drove to NWA and we left Tuesday morning! The drive was great- we were in the rain for awhile, but not long- and it made Payton take a great nap! There are so many fun pictures that we took- but most of them are on my mom's camera so we will have to update a little more later. But all in all we had a great weekend of eating and visiting and even throwing in a little shopping while we were there. We had to hit Sam Moon- and other great stores. Payton seriously did amazing and she didn't even notice when the power went out in our hotel at 3:30am! She kept right on sleeping and woke up right at normal time! We waited for the storms to pass and then drove home in beautiful sunny weather! It was quite an adventure for sure- but one that we will never forget. I just wish we could have stayed longer! Keep checking in for those new pics from our trip!

Welcome to April!

Well....it has been a busy last week- and I have been burdened by not blogging! We have had so many things going on that I had to share them with you! As April approaches in NWA we have had some good weather days and bad weather days...today is a bad one. It rained all night and I think we have a river in the back yard. We did get out to enjoy the weather one day last week and we had a great time outside! Payton loved exploring with the leaves and trying to eat them. She blinked her eyes in the breeze as it almost took her breath away. She is going to love being outside all summer!
This is what we call "the pose" and she can't ever do it when she is older! She goes from one side to the other as she takes her break from crawling all over the place! She can just scoot and be in the other room before you know it!

Aren't these pants the cutest! They are perfect for our after Easter wearing white and still warm enough for this crazy weather! They are so soft and cuddly....thanks Grand Aunt Jenny!!

She loved opening one of Mommy's packages! It was just her size!
We went to LR this weekend and got the chance to fit in so many things and see so many people! If you know my husband, you know that completely stressed him out- but he made time for everyone and I love him for that because it was so important to me! One of the stops was to see our friends Kris and Rachel and their new baby George! He is 5 weeks old and sooo cute! Payton loved exploring everything about him. She did pretty well with me holding him, I wasn't so sure since this weekend we also entered into the "only mommy can hold me"phase....great. But George was such a cutie and we were so glad to get to meet him!

Our Cousins Erin and Casey were in town from Texas too- so we got to spend time with them as well- that was a special treat because normally we see them Thanksgiving and on vacations in the summer- They helped feed her and played with her- Payton really loved Erin's glasses! (Erin...send me some more pics...)

One more stop of the weekend was at our friend Elizabeth Anne's 1st Birthday party! Payton was sad to miss it, she was taking a nap at Granna Sue's - but we brought her a cupcake back.....well it was really for mommy....but EAK had a great time digging into her cake and it made me so excited for Payton's 1st b-day- but I am not rushing her! Jenn did such a great job with the party and was such a great hostess! Everything looked great! Just call her Martha Stewart!
