Happy 30th Daddy!

Dec 29th, Brian entered the third decade of his life! Welcome to the 30's Daddy!! You are such a sweet husband and father. You are such a good supporter, and there are so many things that we are thankful for that you do for us. We have had such a great year, that I can't wait for this next one. I hope you have felt loved today because we love you more than you know! Happy Birthday!!

Daddy sharing his cake and ice cream with Payton...if you know him, you know it is all mixed up with milk...Payton didn't seem to mind!

It was such a beautiful day that we went to the park down the street. I was lucky to get to come because that is Payton and Daddy's special time!

Payton helped me bake Daddy's cake. She got my genes and LOVES sugar!

Holiday Slideshow

We went to LR for a week to spend wonderful times with friends and family. It felt like we were busy every second, but it was worth it to see everyone and enjoy the time with Payton as she enjoyed her second Christmas. There were too many pics to choose from so I made a slide show...grab a cup of cocoa and watch our close to 50 pics! Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!

Santa here we come

Ok...well I was a horrible mom last year and forgot to get P's picture taken with Santa! I know...her first Christmas and I forget. I was not going to let that opportunity pass me by again! So I made sure we went to see him! She was great while we waited in line...she was saying, "Ho Ho Ho" and peeking through his house to see him, pointing....but then we got up to him, and she started shaking her head, no, no, no! So we have a mommy and Payton picture this year. Maybe next year she will sit on his lap and really enjoy it!

Lights on the square

On Sunday we went to the square in Fayetteville to see the lights. It was the one day that was supposed to be warmer and so we took advantage! We were there for about 15 minutes when the cold front blew through....and man did it get cold!! We were not prepared! But we took out pics and hurried home!

Weekend Getaway

This past Thursday Brian and I had a little pre-Christmas getaway to Branson. Brian's parents came up to watch Payton for us. It was the first time I had ever been away from her, so I was a little nervous, but knew she would be in good hands! We had such a good time, we relaxed and went to fun restaurants, did some shopping, and refreshed ourselves for the holiday ahead. Here are some of the pics from while we were gone.

Kicking off the Christmas Season....

We are busy getting ready for the holidays here at the Porbeck house, and our little one is getting ready as well! She is all set in the clothing department thanks to her Granna Sue, and now she has placed her new ornament on the tree, donned her Christmas PJ's and picked out her gifts in the toys r us ad. There is hardly anything else left to do!

The only thing left is to take a vacation with your hat, remote, and shoebox/ purse! Who knew she was such a fashionista!

Use your spoon! Use your spoon!

If I said it once, I said it a thousand times! Use your spoon!! At one point, Payton took the yogurt and poured it all down the front of her jammies...and then proceeded to lick it off! But we have a washer and it was all in a day in the highchair...which will continue to lunch and then on to dinner. I love this phase of life, really I do!

Thanksgiving festivities

We went to Little Rock for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time and ate wonderful food!

Payton and her Great Uncle John

Daddy carving the turkey! Yummy!

Brian's cousins Casey and Erin came from Texas for Thanksgiving...it was great to see them, and fun to hang out. Thanks for enduring the game for us! It was such fun! Go Hogs!

Payton and Pops playing with the fridge magnets

Payton's first trip to the Zoo

Over Thanksgiving break we took Payton to the zoo for the first time...my mom and brothers went with us and it was such a beautiful day! The giraffes were a treat and she likes looking through the fence at the bears.

Payton and her Uncle Mark....thanks for carrying her all the way across the zoo!

Our little miestro and Princess!

OK...so it has been an eternity, I am going to try and catch up on some blogging...I always hate it when I go to other blogs and they haven't changed their posts...well...sorry that was me! I hope to keep you more up to date from now on!

We also went to Andie Kate's 4th Birthday Party...I am not sure if you can tell it's a princess party or not :) There were so many sleeping beauty's there and it was precious! We stayed all of about 15 minutes because Payton proceeded to have a major accident which I will not go into detail about, but now the sweet tinkerbell dress is all clean and we are going to have our own private party now that she is feeling better. She had the stomach bug a couple of weeks ago, and I was already scheduled to work that day and Brian had a conference call, and so he put her in front of the TV...which is a treat, not a sly babysitting attempt...and she conked out! Sweet baby was so tired!

Ok...we if you know me well, you know I try to stay out of politics. I used to think it was way over my head and I didn't understand it all, or that in the long run, it really didn't apply to me, it applied to people older, or with more money. But for some reason, I really got into this election as it effects my family more closely than ever. Payton and I went and voted today, YEA! Our polling center was so easy and we got right in and out. As we were leaving, I had a lady take our picture by the voting sign...I said, "I am sorry, I know this is kinda silly..." and she replied, "No, it's not silly at all, this is a big election!" She then looked down at sweet little Payton and said, "And it will effect you one day." I walked back to our car after thanking her and started to cry. It will effect her. It will effect her in a big way. I know that I did my part to try and help that, but I am scared that it is not enough, and what is our future going to look like? I am reminded of a phrase from our radio station, "Vote with Hope". So today I voted with hope, and I am reminded that the Lord is in control, no matter who is elected later on today. He knows what He is doing, and He knows what is best. It is times like these when we don't understand the will of God, but I trust in His unfailing love for us. So, if you haven't voted, GO VOTE! And vote with hope!

We finally won!

Well now that the hogs have pulled one through I thought I would post some pictures of the past few tailgating experiences. We have been so lucky and the weather has been perfect! Who would have thought it would have been 75 degrees in November! The Ole Miss game got a little chilly, but it was the perfect football atmosphere! If you will notice, Payton finally has a bow on! It was a challenge to keep it on, but then she forgot she was wearing it and it stayed on for awhile. Such a cutie!!

Payton and her Granna Sue and Grandad...Brian's parents

Payton spent most of last weekends tailgate in the car! She wouldn't get out! The she found grandad's ipod and was having a great time pushing all types of buttons!

Can you believe these eyes! She was looking at an airplane in the sky:)
