Ok...we if you know me well, you know I try to stay out of politics. I used to think it was way over my head and I didn't understand it all, or that in the long run, it really didn't apply to me, it applied to people older, or with more money. But for some reason, I really got into this election as it effects my family more closely than ever. Payton and I went and voted today, YEA! Our polling center was so easy and we got right in and out. As we were leaving, I had a lady take our picture by the voting sign...I said, "I am sorry, I know this is kinda silly..." and she replied, "No, it's not silly at all, this is a big election!" She then looked down at sweet little Payton and said, "And it will effect you one day." I walked back to our car after thanking her and started to cry. It will effect her. It will effect her in a big way. I know that I did my part to try and help that, but I am scared that it is not enough, and what is our future going to look like? I am reminded of a phrase from our radio station, "Vote with Hope". So today I voted with hope, and I am reminded that the Lord is in control, no matter who is elected later on today. He knows what He is doing, and He knows what is best. It is times like these when we don't understand the will of God, but I trust in His unfailing love for us. So, if you haven't voted, GO VOTE! And vote with hope!

What a beautiful post, I agree with you so much. I also took Ellie today and felt so good doing so. I can't wait to share with her one day that I brought her along to something so special to me and our country. Taking pics is not silly, just posted mine on my blog.
Enjoy your evening watching history unfold. Love to you both.
Aren't you glad all of the politics is finally over?! The Sarah Palin shirt made me smile. This was a great post, and you are right, no matter what, God is in control. And Payton is very lucky to have a mommy who cares so much about the future of her world. I think that was what it was all about for us mommys yesterday, our children. Political differences we may have, but we are all just trying to do what we think is best for them.
Miss you! Sorry we have been playing phone tag! Love the Sarah Shirt...:)
